This a repost of my guest writing piece on Dave’s site.

Randy from Mostly Music Covers website writes about a now legendary R&B/blues concert with Count Basie and others in NY
February 11 – Turntable Talk 11 : Randy’s Weekend Way-back Machine — A Sound Day
There is a popular office compilation from Count Basie that sounds very relaxing. Basie is one of the best.👍👍

Like I said in Dave’s blog…this was excellent. A great way to revisit a time and I felt like I was there.

As I previously commented on Dave’s blog, I think you made a great time travel choice. While I had heard of the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, I wasn’t aware of the line-up, which was both very impressive and pretty eclectic. I also really like the clips you highlighted. While The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and Free are iconic, I think my favorite might be [still is! 🙂 ] Joni Mitchell – not that she wouldn’t be iconic, but unlike the other aforementioned acts, she wasn’t at the height of her career yet and already was so good!
